Screen Reviews - GI Joe: The Rise Of Cobra

So the H1N1 flu has begun its rapid outbreak and I don't give a damn at all. That didn't stop me from watching one of this summer's last few blockbusters, GI Joe: The Rise of Cobra. Wait, there's no summer in Malaysia at all because technically it's summer all day...

After watching this movie, I was quite impressed by how the movie was done. But what didn't impress me is that the CGI is a little tad overused in the action scenes. Besides that, for those who are fans of GI Joe, I don't think you should be disappointed because this movie shows how everything began. For example, they showed how the war between GI Joe and Cobra began, how James McCullen/Destro attains his silver metallic face, how the rivalry between the two ninjas Snake Eyes and Storm Shadow began, and who is the Cobra Commander.

Well, let me talk about the cast. Despite the star power coming from actors like Channing Tatum, Sienna Miller, Dennis Quaid, Marlon Wayans and many more, I was only impressed by Joseph Gordon-Levitt's performance as Rex Lewis/The Doctor/Cobra Commander.

In conclusion, don't expect a solid storyline and top-notch acting, just sit back and have fun watching it.....(If you are having fun watching it...)...

Cheers,
-Tim-
