The Bitterness of An Institute

Well, this is my first 2010 post ever since returning to school for the final year...Woohoo!....NOT.....

Besides, three weeks have passed and Chinese New Year is coming soon. The feeling I felt while returning to school is good because I get to meet my friends again but at the same time I feel frustrated because since I'm sitting for my SPM this year, it's gonna be a looooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooonnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnggggggggggg
year for anyone who's in Form 5 this year.

Look's like that's all I could say. Maybe when I'm in the mood for partying, be on the lookout because I might publish a new article and you wouldn't even know it...

Cheers,

Screen Reviews - Avatar

Avatar-Teaser-Poster

Ha, my first 2010 post, finally…

A great way to start the New Year by doing a movie review on one of the biggest movies of the holidays. Even though I’ve watched this before Christmas, but I decided to do my review when I have all the time in the world.

For those who don’t know what Avatar is all about, let me fill you in the spoiler-free details. In a distant planet called Pandora, there were strange beasts and an alien race called the Na’vi ( who actually look like smurfs since they’re blue). Then, the humans wanted to acquire a special material hidden under the trees which were the home of the Na’vi. Among the humans there’s a paraplegic Marine named Jake Sully who replaced his late twin brother and joined a program called ‘Avatar’, where the humans enter a machine and their mind and body are transferred to a Na’vi body. Then, the human becomes the Na’vi.

When Jake was fused with his Avatar, he infiltrates the Na’vi tribe and becomes one of them. But as he continued to spend more time with them, he realised that he felt at home. But when the humans wanted to attack the Na’vi, Jake will do anything to help the aliens he grew fond of.

After watching this movie, I was blown away by the brilliant CGI who made the landscapes of the planet Pandora look realistic. Sam Worthington did another great job playing the lead role of Jake Sully after his breakout role in Terminator Salvation. Let’s hope he does a better job in the remake of Clash of the Titans which is coming soon.

About the director, what can I say? He’s James Cameron. He directed Titanic, he created the Terminator franchise and he’s the king of the world once again. For now…

Overall, I give the movie 4 out of 5 stars. Great movie…
