Keep Calm, Carry On...and study

For the past four months, I've been going through school life like any other Form 5 student...going through a gigantic pile of shit....

Since it's our final year in secondary school, we will be bombarded as much as we want just so we can succeed, get straight As, go to college/university, work, get married, start a family, and then die...But of course it is for our greater good(not)....

On the brightside,

I finally got tickets to go see STEREOPHONICS LIVE!!!

YES!!!!

The band's Keep Calm and Carry on Tour is coming to Asia and Marvin and I got tickets to go see the band in KL.

At first, we were given a choice to go see them in KL at the 28th or go to their Singapore Leg at the 30th. Due to the ticket prices (KL-RM78 for Early Bird or Singapore-$98), we decided to go to KL since the price is reasonable. Plus, I'll miss a day of school, what the fudge not?

Want proof? it's right here...

The clock is ticking, the concert is in four days, can't wait...

Have a nice day guys....

Cheers,

Screen Reviews – Clash of The Titans

Clashofthetitansremakeposter1

“Release the Krakken!”

This was the famous line uttered by Zeus in the movie Clash of The Titans, the remake of the 1981 film of the same name…For those who have no idea about this movie, let me fill you in the details…

Okay, so the movie focuses on a young man named Perseus, who was secretly the son of Zeus, making him a demi-god. After he discovered his roots, he sets out on a journey to fight Hades and some other creatures in order to defeat Hades and his not so wonderful creation, the Krakken. With a name like that, who knows what kind of dick jokes people come up with.

What do I think about the movie? Well, it is good but it is also quite bad. Aside from all the breathtaking scenery, kick-ass action, great CGI, most of it was as cheesy as the 1981 version. Story wise, this film has a lot of potential since it’s based on Greek mythology but the emotion, the clever catchphrases is cut down from second to none.

This is so far Sam Worthington’s third lead role( in an action movie), but his acting chops didn’t bring life to the movie, he only brought the grittiness in the stunts and various action scenes. Ralph Fiennes was somehow supposed to be diabolical as Hades but he made a cringe-worthy performance as  God with a terrible case of asthma. What about Zeus? the more larger-than-life character? Liam Neeson put up a decent job but the only part that defined him was that very familiar quote : (refer to the one above you nut)

Overall, the movie is flawed in every way but it is a fun movie to watch if you love action movies and Greek mythology…

Screen Reviews - Alice In Wonderland

As you may know, this particular story written by Lewis Carroll has been adapted and re-interpreted so many time until the point that I feel like cursing this movie. But when Tim Burton's movie version of Alice in Wonderland was released, I had a feeling that the movie will be quite interesting and dark since it's directed by Tim Burton. the guy who brought you The Corpse Bride, Edward Scissorhands, Batman, Sweeney Todd, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and many more...

After watching this movie, I had mixed reviews about this movie. I can't fathom whether this movie is a great flick or just another visual fest with an empty plot....

What I like about this movie is the great visual effects. Burton really made a children's fairytale look like sort of a nightmare with the very dark and chilling setting. Besides that, Burton was also known for depicting very weird and kooky characters and Alice in Wonderland is full of them.....and who does he call to play one of his characters? Take a guess.....if you answered Johnny Depp and Burton's wife Helena Bonham-Carter, you got it right!

Johnny Depp never fails playing a weird character and the role of The Mad Hatter is crazy in every way. Bonham-Carter also did a good job playing the Red Queen. I think her performance worked because of her incredibly huge head. To add some star power is Anne Hathaway as the White Queen, a gentle but also weird character....

What worries me about this movie is that the storyline is a step back from the original but it seemed kinda lost, like when you tried to fill something up, a void will always bug you. The lead actress, Mia Wasowiska who plays Alice doesn't look convincing. At times, she looks kinda dull and boring...

Overall, this version of Alice in Wonderland isn't about Alice, but the strange characters from a strange place called Wonderland, or was it Underland....

My rating: 3.9/5 stars...Just to make things fair
